In a tough move to stop rising attacks against its staff ers, Nigeria's oldest indigenous airline, Aero Contractors, has warned it would blacklist any passenger who assaults or abuses any of its em ployees, especially during flights.

Low cost airline Mango’s CEO Nico Bezuidenhout today said that the low cost airline benefitted from football’s greatest showcase in June and July. Over the tournament period Mango averaged a 97% load factor carrying more than 180 000 guests with 106 540 pieces of luggage over 1344 flight hours. Estimates show that more than half of travellers on the airline over the period were en route to matches while approximately 60% of Guests were foreign visitors.

Leading African airline Kenya Airways (KQ) recently announced its plans to broaden its network by flying into Angola’s capital city, Luanda, starting 17 August 2010. After successfully securing KQ’s landing rights with the Angolan aviation authorities, Dr Titus Naikuni, Group Managing Director and CEO confirmed that the new route will not only be a key destination for the airline, but will also mark a major milestone in growing its African network.
